Man complains his pizza has no topping - until he realises it is upside down

More than 20,000 people have listened to a recording of a Welsh man complaining to a supermarket call centre worker than he has been left without dinner because he has been sold a plain pizza base.

Minutes into the call, his complaints turn to embarassment as he realises he has opened the box upside down, and is in fact looking at the underside of the pizza.

After admitting, "I look like a fool" he goes on to complain that the box should have been marked with instructions, saying which way up it should be held.

A man who goes by the name of Nicky Labron claims the call was a hoax, and one of many staged pranks placed on the website Youtube under his name. During the four minute call, the ASDA call centre worker attempts to be polite but is reduced to helpless laughter as his caller, from Merthyr Tydfil, appears to realises his error.

A spokesman for the supermarket chain said the call sounded genuine, but that it had no way of tracing its records. He said ASDA had no plans to mark its pizza boxes with instructions about how to open them.
